Restaurants building on Zayos
The online ordering system built for independent restaurants
Online ordering for restaurants that replaces the patchwork of middleware, tablets, and CRMs you're paying for today with one system, end to end.
| You currently use | Zay-OS replaces it with |
|---|---|
| Olo / Toast Online Ordering | Direct ordering site (no commission) |
| Chowly / KitchenHub | Uber Eats, DoorDash and Grubhub orders on the same tablet (via Otter) |
| Standalone tablet systems | Kitchen tablet + KDS |
| Square / Toast CRM | Customer CRM + reporting |
| Manual tax tracking | DAVO tax set-aside (auto) |
| Nothing on the market | AI shift briefing |
| Standalone dispatch tools | 14-provider never-fail dispatch |
Saving on commissions is half the story.
Owning the customer is the other half.
Every Uber Eats order is a rented customer. Zay-OS turns them into yours, then gives you the levers to bring them back without paying a 30% toll. This is the part DoorDash will never tell you about.
- ◆ QR receipts — every paper + bag receipt prints a "20% off your next direct order" QR code.
- ◆ SMS + email blasts — your own CRM list, two-cent texts, no marketplace fee.
- ◆ One-tap reorder — saved card, saved address, "Reorder Friday's special" in 4 seconds.
- ◆ Loyalty + win-back — auto-trigger a 15%-off SMS at day 30 of inactivity, before a fading regular is gone for good.
- ◆ Direct-only specials — your $14 lunch combo only exists on the direct site. Diners learn the lesson fast.
What restaurant owners actually ask
What is Zay-OS?+
Zay-OS is a restaurant operating system built for independent restaurants and ghost kitchens. It unifies direct ordering, Uber Eats, DoorDash, and Grubhub into one tablet and one customer CRM, plus DAVO sales-tax set-aside, AI shift briefing, and a 14-provider never-fail order dispatch cascade. Built by Zay Revenue Group (Fort Lauderdale, FL).
How much does Zay-OS save vs DoorDash and Uber Eats commissions?+
A busy single-location restaurant doing about 100 orders a day, with 60 of those coming through the delivery apps, saves about $48,000 per year by routing repeat customers to direct ordering. Around 200 orders a day it is $120,000+, and a multi-brand kitchen doing 400 a day across its brands saves $300,000+ per location per year. These are modeled figures from those volumes at a $32 to $40 average ticket, not customer results.
How much does Zay-OS cost?+
Zay-OS has no setup fee. Operator is $399/mo per location (direct online ordering, POS integration with Clover, Square or Shift4 included — Toast bills its own $50/mo — customer CRM, DAVO tax set-aside, AI shift briefing, SEO + GEO). Operator + Tablet is $499/mo per location (adds the kitchen tablet running Order Manager, Uber Eats, DoorDash and Grubhub orders landing on the same tablet via Otter, 14-provider never-fail dispatch, push-to-POS). Concierge is $599/mo per location (white-glove, up to 5 virtual brands per kitchen). Every monthly tier includes a small per-order service fee paid by the diner at checkout ($0.99 pickup, $0.99 delivery, 10% catering), so the operator keeps 100% of food revenue and pays no commission. Prefer to pay $0 monthly as the business? There is also a revenue-share option: no monthly fee, and Zay-OS takes 10% of sales through the platform instead. Additional POS integrations are a one-time $1,500 each.
How long does Zay-OS take to set up?+
Two to three weeks, end-to-end. We build it for you: branded direct-ordering site, kitchen tablet provisioning, marketplace integration via Otter, POS connection, DAVO tax-rule setup, customer CRM seed, and staff training. There is no setup fee — operators don't need to assign engineering or operations time.
What POS systems does Zay-OS integrate with?+
Toast, Lightspeed (formerly Upserve), Square for Restaurants, and Clover. One POS integration is included with every Operator-tier plan. Each additional POS connection is a one-time $1,500. Multi-POS environments (e.g. Toast in front-of-house, Square at the bar) are supported on the Concierge tier.
Does Zay-OS work with Uber Eats and DoorDash?+
Yes. The Operator + Tablet tier pulls Uber Eats, DoorDash, and Grubhub orders in via Otter and lands them on the same kitchen tablet as your direct orders. One screen, one ticket flow, one daily reconciliation. You can also send delivery via the 14-provider never-fail dispatch cascade if you operate your own dispatch (Uber Direct, DoorDash Drive, Roadie, Skipcart, Postmates, Onfleet, plus 8 more).
Who is Zay-OS for?+
Independent restaurant operators (1-5 locations), virtual brands, and ghost kitchens. Best fit: $30k+/month gross revenue per location with a meaningful share of orders coming from third-party marketplaces. Naya Grill (Pompano Beach and West Palm Beach) is customer #1.
How is Zay-OS different from Toast or Square for Restaurants?+
Toast and Square are POS systems. Zay-OS is the layer above the POS — it owns the customer relationship, runs the direct-ordering site, pulls the delivery-app orders onto the same tablet, dispatches delivery, sets aside sales tax, and briefs the morning shift. Toast and Square plug into Zay-OS; they aren't replaced. Zay-OS exists because POS systems don't help operators escape the 28-32% DoorDash commission spiral.
What is the AI shift briefing?+
Every morning at 8 AM (operator-configurable), Zay-OS sends a Claude-generated text or email summarizing the previous day: revenue split by source, top 5 best-selling items, refund rate, longest ticket time, slow-stock warnings, and one specific 'what to do today' recommendation. Built-in feature, no extra setup.
Does Zay-OS include sales tax handling?+
Yes. DAVO is included on every Operator tier. DAVO automatically sets aside the sales-tax portion of every direct + marketplace order daily into a holding account. When the state files comes due, DAVO files and remits — operators never accidentally spend their tax. State coverage: all 50 states.
Is there a long-term contract for Zay-OS?+
No. Zay-OS is month-to-month. There is no setup fee and no long-term contract — we build it in under 2 weeks and the first month starts when you go live. Cancel any time — operators own their direct-ordering domain, customer list, and order history forever, exportable in one click.
